ChaseWaterCycle Christmas Club

Join ChaseWaterCycle Christmas Club today!!!

Well perhaps its the chilly weather I don’t know but I was in the Hairdressers last Friday (Cut & Dry on Queen Street, Chasetown, Hi Tracey, Cheryl Abbie, Kerry and Kate:) and already there is talk about buying early for Christmas.

Believe me when I say I am not one of those people who start shopping early for Christmas, particularly in August but some of you are more organised than me.

And since many of you have just come back off holiday (you lucky things) and the kids are starting back at school (new uniforms) I guess the next thing many of you are starting to think about (perhaps even dread cause more expense) is what to buy yourselves and the kids for Christmas.

So we have decided to start a ChaseWaterCycle Christmas Club where Customers can Order now for Bikes (Learn to Ride, Haro BMX, Genesis) Clothing (Casual or Cycling, Buffwear) and Accessories (Stocking fillers: Bells, Knog lights, gloves, new BMX) and pay each week up until Christmas.

This is an interest free Savings Plan 0%, there is no minimum amount and no credit check and open to all our Customers who wish to participate.

Join ChaseWaterCycle Christmas Club today please ask in Store for details or Contact Lesley on 01543 375188.

Cycle to Work Scheme

Everyday I encounter more and more Customers who are not aware they can make Big Savings on the purchase of a New Bike via the Cycle to Work Scheme, Bike 2 Work Scheme or Cycle Plus.

I don’t think they realise the Cyclescheme is Open to any Employer to join, be it, whether you own and run a local Hairdressers, Newsagents, Flower Shop, Supermarket, Car Garage, Environmental Consultant, Interior Design Business, Public House, Restaurant Owner, whatever your profession.

The process for an Employer to join the scheme is very quick and quite painless….Oooch Ouch oooch ….well not as painful as walking through a bunch of brambles anyway…..by the way, have you seen all of the blackberries out…Mmmmm…blackberry crumble…….just like Mama used to make :)

So where was I, oh yes, once signed up to the scheme, the wonderful, kind Employer can offer their Employees the added benefit of purchasing a New Bike and Accessories (even Child seats and tag-a-longs can be included) up to a value of £1000. The Employee agrees to pay for the Bike as a monthly Salary Sacrifice over 12 months.  To get an idea of how much this will be and the Savings to be made please click here for the Cyclescheme Savings Calculator. As this payment comes out of the Employees Salary at source (before tax), the Employer Saves money on National Insurance contributions.

Here’s whatcha do: the Employee/Customer comes into ChaseWaterCycle and selects a bike of their dreams, the bike shop completes a Quote form and includes any accessories (helmet, gloves, pump, seat pack) the Customer requires up to the value of £1000.  The bike can be a Complete Bike or Custom Built from a Frame Set.

The Employee goes back to the Employer and hands in the completed Quote form, where the information is inputted into the Cyclescheme website. Cyclescheme then invoices the Employer for the bike.  The Employer pays for the bike and Cyclescheme then issues the Employee with their Voucher. The Employee then contacts ChaseWaterCycle to say they have the voucher and wish to come and collect their shiny new Bike and Accessories.

Just like Ian, who works for Sainsbury’s did with the Brand New, Newly released Genesis Core 20 2011 Model, thats right 2011 model….lovely :)

Andy bought his New Africa Bike and Accessories via the Cycle to Work Scheme at Birmingham City University :)

At the end of the 12 month period a residual value of the Bike is determined by HMRC based on a percentage of the Original Sale price.

Chasewater Dam Work due to Start

Well the word, Hot off the Press, on the Street or maybe Verge this morning is …….. drum roll please….

And this is not just gossip, I have it from a reliable source that the local Contractor Morrisons (well they have an office in Tamworth) is due to Set up the site, Drain some more water out of Chasewater and Start the work to repair the Dam the first week in September 2010 and Travis will be the Consultants overseeing the works.

Timescale is to be reviewed and work completion is dependent on weather and what issues are encountered or what unfolds as the work progresses.  Oooh how exciting :)

Wow!!! Just told more drilling work is due to start today!!! Hmmmm not sure I really believe this one, what do you guys think???

Heah maybe we should have a Chasewater Dam Works Starting Party, any interest please let me know and I will get it arranged.

Well I went to drive down the Dam on Saturday (14 August 2010) so as to avoid having to drive all the way down the A5, back around and into Chasewater Country Park pick up Katie’s coat from ChaseWaterCycle Shop and then head off to Amerton Farm.  And the drill rig has now moved, and is now blocking the whole of the Dam Road.  So I had to reverse back again and yeah guessed it, drive all the way around.  Oh well, we had great fun at Amerton :)

ChaseWaterCycle is on Facebook

Well we have decided to take the plunge and join the thousands of people and businesses who are on Facebook.  However I am a complete novice at this so please bear with me and feel free to have a look and comment on our ChaseWaterCycle Facebook Page :)   Not that there is much to look at, as I must say the ChaseWaterCycle Facebook is completely in the early stages so I haven’t placed much on here yet but Wow…. how amazing it all is.

On registering myself on facebook I have been truly amazed how many people (mainly long lost lovely relatives!!! Aughh… how lovely, sweet to hear from them and I will be in contact soon hi yeah) have been in contact with me. I didn’t know until now how much they have been missing me all of these years :)   But seriously it really does hook people up, isn’t technology wonderful.

Thanks to all of you who have helped and encouraged me to get the ChaseWaterCycle facebook page up and running. So please comment and make the ChaseWaterCycle facebook page a Fun place to be :)

Swans find Water

Well my daughter Katie and I were cycling around Chasewater the other day and watched some swans with their signets walking along Chasewater seeking water to swim in.

The little family then went under the metal bridge and into Norton pool looking pretty pleased with themselves.

Nice to get our feet wet :)

But honestly, many of us are wondering, how much longer will it be before work is started on the Chasewater Dam and water returns to Chasewater when will they put the plug back in???
